- Description
- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/ Oceanic and Administrative Research (OAR) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Service Argos, Inc. to provide data telemetered from oceanographic platforms using the Argos system on NOAA Polar Orbiting satellites to the program principal investigators. Argos is a satellite-based system which collects, processes and disseminates environmental data from fixed and mobile platforms worldwide. Argos was developed under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES, the French space agency), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, USA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, USA). Location and data collection services are provided under the basic operating agreement for the system. This is a notice of intent with no solicitation package available. Award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. (Reference No. NRMB0-2-08)
