- Description
- NASA JSC White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) plans to issue a IFB/Request for Offer to replace the existing roof system on the upper and lower roofs of the South and North High Bays at WSTF. The project will consist of furnishing and installing a single-ply membrane roofing system on four lower and two upper High Bay roofs, removing the roof to decking on the lower roof of the South High Bay and power brush the other five roofs; intalling walkways and working platforms of membrane material from roof access to and around roof top mounted equipment, and using the same material provide a platform at roof access. This project also includes installing two-way vents at the rate of one per 300 square feet to allow the old roof to breathe and to allow any existing moisture currently trapped in the roof to escape. In addition, the vents will prevent lifting of the membrance when the large High-Bay doors are operated. Also included in this project is removing and re-installing existing lightning protection and designing and installing permanent personal safety fall protection attachment/tie off points, per OSHA requirements on all roof systems being replaced. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $100,000 to $250,000 and the effort shall be completed within 60 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 235610 and $12.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about May 2, 2002 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about June 5, 2002. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
