- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to Martin-Baker Aircraft Company, Ltd. for the Navy Aircrew Common Ejection Seat (NACES) Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) in accordance with Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) MB9230. The follow-on ECP effort provides for approximately 200 NACES seat retrofit change kits and associated hardware, integrated logistics and installation support, and technical data. The ECP modifies the SJU-17 NACES seat to provide for increased accommodation and to insure that ejection risk for an expanded range of aircrew anthropometry is equal to or less than the current injury risk with the originally qualified anthropometric range. Martin-Baker Aircraft Company, Ltd. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of NACES and the only known source with the required technical expertise and data to meet the Government's needs.
