Description
The Department of Defense, Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) community is soliciting information for a mature, commercially available inventory management system to include pricing information. The system will require interoperability with current Operating Systems and be able to provide total asset visibility within four organizational levels at approximately 150 locations with real-time updates. Current inventory consists of 2,000 line items. Desired system capabilities include: (1) ability to identify phase replacement and flag replacement items when appropriate, calibration and other certification requirements, and hazmat, (2) creating reports at each organizational level reflecting shortfalls and inventories, (3) flexibility within the system to allow for dynamic organizational change. The system should also be able to receive pricing updates from FEDLOG and allow EOD technicians located at remote sites or at sea the ability to update inventory 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Each response must reference the sources sought title. Information submitted should describe the contractor?s capability and/or past experience in performing the described services. This announcement is NOT a formal solicitation and is NOT a request for proposal. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes ONLY and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Interested entities may submit faxed responses to Naval EOD Technology Division, Attn: Patricia Griffin at (301) 744-6883, fax (301) 744-4046, or send a email to griffinpa@eodpoe2.navsea.navy.mil. Responses must be received no later that close of business on 15 May 2002. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) . There is no commitment on the part of the U.S. Navy to award a contract as a result of this request for information.
