Description
The US Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey is conducting a market survey of industry to identify sources that are capable of supplying M734A1 Multi-Option Fuzes (MOFM) and M783 Point Detonating/Delay Mortar fuzes for Mortars, to support FY03-07 production quantities. The M734A1 fuze has four selectable functions: two proximity Height of Burst settings (60/81 PRX and 120 PRX), Impact (IMP) and Delay (DLY). No tools are required to set the fuze. The M734A1 can be used on 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm High Explosive (HE) and 120mm White Phosphorous (WP) Smoke Rounds. The M783 fuze has Impact and Delay capability and shares many of the same components at the M734A1 MOFM. The M783 Fuze can be used on the 60mm HE and 60mm WP smoke cartridges. The two fuzes will be procured under the same contract; each fuze will have a base year quantity (FY03) and 4 priced option quantities FY04-07. The anticipated quantity for the base year is 69,400 of M734A1 Multi-Option Fuzes and 43,159 M783 Point Detonating Fuzes. The maximum quantity to be purchased for each option is 270,000. This market survey is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government will utilize the information provided for planning purposes only. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status. Interested firms with capability in providing M734A1 Multi-Option Fuzes and M783 Point Detonating/Delay Mortar fuzes should provide, at no cost to the government, a summary of their firm's capabilities within fifteen days of this publication by electronic mail to tcrowley@pica.army.mil.
