- NA The Arkansas Army National Guard Environment Office at Fort Chaffee requires a need for a Fish Survey. The objective of this study is to establish a detailed inventory of fish on Fort Chaffee MTC. This inventory and accompanying report will be used to ch aracterize existing biotic communities and identify those species that may be rare or uncommon within the region. Special attention will be focused on identifying species included on federal, state, or Arkansas Natural Heritage Program list. Identificati on of these species and their habitats can allow for consideration during planning phases of proposed activities and the potential impacts on these communities during training. This may also allow the modification of existing programs and activities to be modified to minimize possible adverse effects of communities containing sensitive or rare fish. An individual holding a PhD or MS in Zoology or a related scientific discipline will supervise this contract. The supervisor and supporting personnel should have access to a university museum to maintain species for collective purposes. MAJOR REQUIREMENTS: The major requirements under this scope of work: Conduct a thorough field survey of fish populations on The Fort Chaffee MTC; Collect and record pertinent data; and Produce reports, which shall include a checklist of species present tables or relative abundance by habitat, monitoring sites and methods, and associated geospatial data in ARCVIEW 3.2 format in FDGC compliance.
