- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) intends to make a single contract award to a responsible entity for the provision of Medical Laboratory Services at the Federal Correctional Institution, Milan, Michigan (hereinafter referred to as FCI Milan). Services will be required for a one-year base period with four one-year option periods for a total of sixty months from the date of contract award. The duration of the Base Contract period is from May 25, 2002 through May 25, 2003. Option Year #1 is from May 26, 2003 through May 25, 2004. Option Year #2 is from May 26, 2004 through May 25, 2005. Option Year #2 is from May 26, 2005 through May 25, 2006. Option Year #3 is from May 26, 2006 through May 25, 2007. The delivery schedule for these services will require a daily (Monday - Friday excluding Government Holidays) pick up from FCI Milan. The successful contractor must have the ability to telephone for emergency pick up or to obtain emergency lab results. In addition, results of all testing mailed or transmitted to FCI Milan within one day of completion. Also, ability to obtain needed laboratory supplies through the vendor. The successful firm must have the capacity for laboratory to phone high values of tests to FCI Milan for quick treatment. The procedures to be used for making a contract award will be Written Request for Quotations using Test Procedures. The anticipated award date is on or about May 25, 2002. This action is advertised as full and open competition. The solicitation will be available on or about April 30, 2002, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site.
