- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to procure on a sole source basis with the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., College Park, MD for membership renewal to the University of Maryland's Center for Micro Engineering (CEMIE), under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Only One Source Reasonably Available. The membership entitles NIST to direct the research of a graduate student, receive access to facilities at the University of Maryland's MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) Laboratories, receive consultation from professors affiliated with the Center, and facilitate teaming activities with the University. This is a sole source procurement since CEMIE is the only such membership program available that will meet the consultation and facilities needs of the MEMS project's research milestones. A fixed price Purchase Order with a one (1) year performance period will be awarded on or about May 13, 2002 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competition. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the closing date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) will not be issued. See Note 26.
