Description
POC: Marilyn Hutchison, U.S. Geological Survey, P.O. Box 25046, MS 204B, Denver, Colorado 80225, Telephone: 303-236-9321; Fax: 303-236-2710; Email: mhutchi@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey, Crustal Imaging and Characterization Team, has a requirement for analytical chemistry services, which will be performed at the Crustal Imaging and Characterization Team Laboratories on the Denver Federal Center, Lakewood, Colorado, on a part-time basis (32 hours per week) for a period of fifty (50) weeks. These non-personal services shall be performed on-site, using Government-furnished equipment and supplies. The Contractor shall provide support in preparing and analyzing geologic/environmental samples for various Crustal Imaging and Characterization Team projects. These tasks will be ongoing and simultaneous throughout the duration of the contract period. In addition, Contractor shall keep and update extensive logbooks on all analytical techniques, perform routine maintenance and basic ?troubleshooting? on all equipment and instrumentation used, and handle, store, and dispose of hazardous waste in an OSHA approved fashion. Contractor shall possess a B.S. or B.A. degree in chemistry and have a minimum of one year of laboratory experience doing similar types of analyses outside of a classroom/academic setting, or have completed requirements for a masters degree in chemistry. Contractor shall have a working knowledge of personal computers, specifically, spreadsheet (Excel) and word processing (Word or Word Perfect) software.
