Description

The contractor shall provide all management, transportation, fuel, maintenance, busses and drivers. A total of 300 busses with a 41 - 51 passenger capacity. On 18 May 2002 (ONLY) from 0700 hrs ? 1900 hrs. Peak period of demand is anticipated to be from 1500 hrs ? 1800 hrs. The crowd is estimated to be around 200,000 people. The route of travel will be from FEDEX Field to Andrews Air Force Base. The distance is approximately 10 miles one way, roundtrip 40 - 50 minutes depending on traffic. Air conditioned busses are requested but not required. At least 10 busses will need to be handicap capable. The drop off points will be controlled by the Andrews Transportation Staff. FEDEX field should have at least 10 loading/drop off points. Departure time from FEDEX field should average around a 5 minute continuous round trip shuttle service from FEDEX Field to Andrews Air Force Base. All busses must meet Federal and DOT safety requirements. Contractor will be responsible for compliance with military direction/supervision. Busses must be clearly marked for FEDEX Field and Andrews Air Force Base. This is a short notice suspense with a closing date and time for submission of offers will be 18 April 2002 1630 hrs. (Note: paper copies will not be issued.) While the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments pertaining to this solicitation. All prospective offeror?s interested in submitting a proposal must have a commercial and government entity code (CAGE CODE) and be registered in the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) at www.ccr2000.com This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract; it does not restrict the Government?s ultimate approach; nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any proposal preparation cost.
