Description
The National Institute on Drug Abuse is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having the in-house capability to conduct compound screening in the mouse locomotor activity and rat drug discrimination paradigms for assessment as potential pharmacotherapies for cocaine or methamphetamine dependence. Proprietary compounds will be evaluated in established protocols, and the resulting data will be utilized by the Cocaine Treatment Discovery Program and Methamphetamine Treatment Discovery Program of NIDA?s Division of Treatment Research and Development. The successful offeror must indicate possession of current DEA registration for Schedules II-V substances prior to award and demonstrate either possession of or ability to obtain a DEA Research Registration for Schedule I under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. This work currently is being performed by the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, under Contract N01DA-7-8076. RFP No. N01DA-2-8822 will be available electronically on or about May 10, 2002, and may be accessed through the Internet at the following address: (URL:http:/www.nida.nih.gov/RFP/RFPList.html).
