Description
The Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and other resources necessary to complete this project. The work includes but is not limited to removing one 1000-foot span of 230-kV transmission line including conductors, overhead ground wires, insulators, and miscellaneous hardware, remove two lattice transmission towers, remove or cut off eight concrete tower footings, assemble and install two Government-furnished 55-foot ground masts and two Government-furnished 230-kV take-off structures, install four Government-furnished direct-embedded steel pole structures with concrete backfill and Government-furnished conductor insulator assemblies, reconnect special spans, furnish and install overhead ground wire assemblies, conductors, overhead ground wires, vibration dampers, furnish and install repair sleeves on existing conductors and overhead ground wires, assemble and install one Government-furnished 175-foot, 4-leg self supported microwave tower. This solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis. All responsible business concerns may submit a bid which shall be considered by this Agency. Estimated construction magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000, This solicitation will be issued on or about May 3, 2002. The projected bid opening date is on or about June 4, 2002. Estimated completion date is 150 calendar days after receipt of a notice to proceed. Interested bidders must e-mail, fax, or mail the Contract Specialist to request the specifications and applicable drawings. DO NOT post any questions or responses to this IFB on IIPS. Any questions or responses posted on the IIPS that concern this IFB will NOT be considered during the evaluation and award process. NOTE: A limited number of copies of this solicitation will be available through various planrooms. Information hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm (CDT) Monday through Friday.
