- Description
- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire Life Cycle support services for the F/A-18 series aircraft. The services for this acquisition will include the performance of eighty-six (86) different Aircraft Frame Changes (AFCs) for the above series aircraft. These AFCs include: fuel tank modifications; radar upgrades; bulkhead repairs; skin cracks; battery relays; cockpit upgrades; cracked fasteners; inner wing repairs; and structural improvements. The services to perform these tasks include: engineering; technical; logistics; test; inspection; calibration; repair; maintenance; equipment upgrade installation; and configuration management required to return the aircraft in ?ready for flight? status. No property or equipment will be provided by the Government. This procurement is a sole source acquisition with the McDonnell Douglas Company, A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Boeing Company is the only known provider of these services at this time. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Services are anticipated to be provided for a basic period of 1 year with 4 one-year options. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded as a result of this quotation. Interested parties may identify their interests and technical capability to respond to this requirement and may submit information which shall be considered by FISC Norfolk DET Philadelphia.
