Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Patuxent River, MD (NAWCADPAX) is evaluating the availability of a Universal Oxygen Mask and Communications Test Set for US Navy aircraft support. The US Navy is currently investigating the possibility of combining several oxygen test sets into one universal oxygen mask and communications test set to support Navy and Marine Corp aircraft. The purpose of the test set is to functionally test oxygen systems which will include the helmet, oxygen mask, oxygen regulator and oxygen hose. The test set should be capable of interfacing with different types of oxygen hose connectors, communication plugs and adapters. The test set will check for communications operation and electrical continuity for a range of voltages and should be capable of generating sufficient pressures to operate the different oxygen regulators during the functional test. All will be performed just before the pilot boards the aircraft. It is requested that information be submitted NO LATER THAN 10 May 2002, via e-mail at PrinesXL@navair.navy.mil with any literature attached as Microsoft Office or Acrobat documents or to Mr. Xavier Prines, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Code 4.6.3.2B2187 R2240H, 48110 Shaw Road, Patuxent River, MD 20670. Mr. Prines can be reached at (301) 342-9241. Respondents are notified that a formal solicitation MAY NOT necessarily result from this RFI. Any comments provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. The US Navy WILL NOT PAY for any information received in response to this RFI nor will the US Navy compensate any respondent for any costs incurred in developing the information provided to the US Navy. The US Navy will not release any information marked with a Proprietary legend, received in response to this RFI to any firms, agencies, or individuals outside the US Navy without written permission in accordance with the legend. Any and all responses shall be appreciated.
