Description
NA The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, White Sands Contracting Division, intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, for a firm fixed price contract for development and research support of the Scene and Countermeasures Integration for Munition Interaction with Targets (SCIMITAR) Tool. The proposed contract period of performance is anticipated not to exceed one year. Thi s is the continuation of a joint project between the Government and the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) initiated in the Summer, 2001. The work involves two efforts: 1) to develop the graphical user interface (GUI) which enables SCIMITAR to run wi th independent software and provides the user with a more intuitive interface that is much easier to verify and validate from the standpoint of configuration control. This will be performed with the UTEP-developed Software Requirement Specification and the Software Design Description Programs; and 2) to initiate and apply research from the Dynamic Monitoring with Integrity Constraints (DynaMICs) project to the existing SCIMITAR project for the Government. This work will establish the mechanism to provide a software code, complete and tested, for the SCIMITAR-GUI. CATEGORY D: Automated Information System Design and Integration Services NUMBERED NOTE 22: This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, all proposals received within 3 business days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compe te with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
