Description
The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (DHHS), through the Program Support Center, intends to negotiate a sole-source award with Greater Mount Calvary Church (Project Bridges) Washington, DC 20002. Purpose: Substance use leading to serious behavioral and/or health problems continues to be commonplace in all communities, and the prevalence of illicit drug use today is higher in the United States than in any other industrialized society. Data from the 1999 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse indicate that 14.8 million Americans use illicit drugs. A study conducted titled "The Economic Costs of Drug Abuse in the United States, 1992?1998, released by National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) on January 23, 2002, showed that illegal drug use strains the nation's health care resources and drives up health care costs for all Americans. The goals of this project will sustain the strong network of congregations operating drug and treatment programs and further strengthen their treatment skill competencies, Diabetes, grant writing and program evaluation skills. Participants will again engage in workshops and skill building activities during the Technical Assistance event. THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES OR SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302. INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT OR SUBMIT PROPOSALS WITHIN 7 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL NORMALLY BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.
