Description
CLASSCOD AC: Subject: RFI DUE: 19 April 2002 POC: John J. Berlin II The Navy plans to upgrade GPS installations on its sea and air platforms to enhance jamming resistance through use of available non-developmental-item (NDI) anti-jam antenna systems. The Navy intends to utilize the existing GAS-1 Anti-Jam Antenna System to upgrade several air and ship platforms. The Navy intends to work with the GPS Joint Program Office (JPO) to modify existing contract F04701-96-C-0050 to procure additional GAS-1 systems including Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) (AS-3821A/ARN, P/N 01-01664/00,1 NSN:5985-01-352-9676) and Antenna Electronics (AE) (AS-3820C/AR, P/N 808352/000, NSN 5985-01-447-0682). In this way the Navy utilizes an already developed, qualified nulling antenna system with established logistics process. Working with the GPS JPO a competition for an advanced system is planned in the future. Intended source for the current GAS-1 system is Raytheon Systems Limited of Harlow, United Kingdom. Raytheon Systems Limited is the manufacturer of the GAS-1 and is the only known company capable of providing the production equipment. Interested parties are invited to submit a Statement Of Capabilities (SOC) including a technical description of the antenna system sufficient for government evaluation of the system as equivalent to the GAS-1 antenna system. Interested offerers must submit an SOC that clearly shows they are qualified to perform the effort and include (1) physical and functional description of the item being offered (size, weight, and external interfaces); (2) performance specifications of the item; (3) qualification data, and (5) cost. This announcement is a request for information and no contract will be awarded pursuant to this announcement. There is no bid package or solicitation document associated with this announcement. The requested information is for planning purposes and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement will be issued. It is not the intent of SSC-SD to reimburse providers for the cost of submitting information in response to this RFI. Please direct any questions via e-mail to the POC, John J. Berlin II, at SPAWARSYSCEN San Diego, Attn: Code 2211, 53560 Hull Street, Bldg. A-33, Rm. 1602W, San Diego, CA 92152-5000.
