Description
NA DESC: Solicitation Number DAMT01-02-R-0053 Headquarters, Military Traffic Management Command, (MTMC) intends to negotiate a Non personal services, Full and Open Acquisition to provide Stevedoring Services to Charleston Naval Weapon Station, the Naval Weapons Station South, all South Carolina's Port Authority facilities within the Greater Charleston area, and facilities of the G eorgia Port Authority (Savannah State Docks, Garden City and Ocean City Terminals). MTMC expects to award a Three Year, Firm Fixed Price, Requirements Contract beginning approximately January 1, 2003. The contractor responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: (1) The contractor shall provide the necessary qualified labor force, equipment, and materials to handle explosives and hazardous materials. The contractor is responsible for providing a full time staff to plan, organize, control, and support the various Stevedoring and other Terminal related services. The contractor shall establish a Cargo Management System to insure the efficient movement and accountability of exports and import cargo through the terminals, Provide Cargo Transporter Stuffing and Unstuf fing Operations, Terminal Operations, Railcar and Truck Unloading and Loading Operations, Container Stuffing and Unstuffing Operations, Vessel Operation, Safety and Quality Control. (2) The North American Industrial Code for this acquisition is 488320. This solicitation will be issued on or about June 1, 2002.
