Description
The requirement is for labor, materials and fabrication of (6) each dry-dock water pumping skids for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The requirement will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures as set forth in FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The solicitation number is N00181-02-Q-0330. The closing date will be established at the time the solicitation package is issued. The NAICS classification is 421830 with a small business standard of 100 employees. All deliverables shall be FOB destination, NNSY, Portsmouth, VA 23709-5000. Statement of Work: Provide all labor and materials to design and fabricate (6) each dry-dock water pumping skids. Each pumping system shall be skid mounted capable of being lifted by a crane and capable of being lifted by a fork truck. Each skid shall have two electric pumps, a cyclone separator, duplex basket strainer, along with piping, associated valves, and an electric control panel. Major components are to be made of stainless steel. Each pumping skid with both pumps operating shall be capable of delivering water at 600 gallons per minute at 80 feet of head. The skids shall have a covered roof to provide protection from paint removal operations. The system shall be designed to operate if one of the pumps needs to be taken off line for repair, it can be bypassed and the other pump remain in operation. A written procedure to validate field test performances of the pump skids shall be submitted with the preliminary pump skid designs. Other detailed specifications will be provided when the solicitation is issued. In accordance with FAR 19.702 a subcontracting plan is required.
