Description: Sandia National Laboratories (Livermore, California) has developed a new piezo-electric motor that permits multi-dimensional positioning of devices with submicrometer precision. This new motor has been incorporated in a scanning tunneling microscope (STM). Sandia is interested in partnering with industry to further develop and integrate the motor and STM to develop near-term and/or future applications.
