- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to negotiate a Purchase Order with the Transportation Research Board (TRB) for the Co-Sponsorship of the development for Safety Conscious Mini-Conference. TRB will develop a consensus action plan on how to strengthen safety in the planning process. Additionally, the FHWA along with TRB will develop strategies to implement the safety requirement for two major efforts on the series of state-level safety conscious planning. TRB will also provide the logistical forum, provide the pre-conference research and issue the final draft copy of the research data collected which will be issued to the FHWA leadership team on the Safety Conscious Planning upon completion of the workshop and conference. TRB has extensive history with FHWA along with the technical expertise in both the safety and planning area. Because TRB will be providing partial funding for the conference in addition to using their resources and staff to support the conference they are the only known source for the Co-Sponsorship for the conference. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is April 25, 2002.
