Description
NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ-565-71627-0000/721) for twenty (20) each of 45 Amp-Hour Rechargeable Cells, Part Number 63-1780, or equal to meet the following specifications: 1. Cell capacity shall be no less than 43.5 AH and no more than 46.5 AH. 2. Height shall be less that 7.25 inches. 3. Diameter shall be less that 2.5 inches. 4. Cell type shall be cylindrical. 5. Operating environmental/ambient temperature shall be -20C to 55C. 6. Nominal voltage shall be 3.6 volts. 7. Maximum cell voltage shall not be greater than 4.3 volts. 8. Cell shall be equipped with a low pressure disc. 9. Low pressure shall not be less than 145 PSI and no more than 155 PSI. 10. Rupture disc shall not be greater than 0.5 inches in diameter. 11. Cell shall have a shut down separator and will be active for a temperature range of not less than 130C and no more than 140C. 12. Cell chemistry shall be LINIC002/MCMB as lithium nickel cobalt oxide/mesocarbon microbeads. 13. Electrodes shall be solid. 14. Electrolyte shall be liquid LIPF6 - as lithium hexafluorophosphate in EC/EMC - ethylene carbonate/ethyl methyl carbonate. 15. Cell mismaching voltage shall not be greater than 0.035 volts. 16. Cell mismaching capacity shall not be greater than +/- 1.5 AH. 17. Cell energy density shall not be less than 141 WH/KG. 18. Number of recharge cycles shall be greater than 1000. 19. Cell shall have no memory effect. 20. Cell self-discharge rate at C/14 shall not be greater than 1.5% (percent). 21. Cell weight shall not be greater than 2.6 lbs. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 335912 and 1000 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 565-71627-0000/721 is on or about April 19, 2002 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about April 29, 2002. All qualified responsible sources may request a copy of the Request for Quotation by notifying this office prior to April 19,2002. Electronic mail or facsimile requests will be the accepted. The Request for Quotation will be mailed to your address. Responses (company quotes) to the Request for Quotation must be sent in either by facsimile, the United States Postal Service, or other common carrier. Quotes sent via electronic mail will not be accepted. The Request for Quotation will not be posted on the web. An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B".
