Description
The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about April 22, 2002 at http://www.eps.gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive an e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. Please contact Ms. Mildred A. Anderson at (757) 628-4637 or manderson@mlca.uscg.mil, for assistance using FEDBIZOPPS. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: (1) welding repairs, (2) clean and inspect Diesel Fuel tanks, (3) clean, inspect and disinfect potable water tanks, (4) clean, and inspect sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks, (5) remove, inspect and reinstall propeller shaft, (6) fabricate and install propeller seal retainer, (7) renew shaft covering, (8) straighten shaft, (9) renew water-lubricated shaft bearings, (10) renew shaft sleeves, (11) remove and reinstall propeller, (12) perform minor repair and reconditioning of propeller, (13) clean, renew, and test grid coolers, (14) preserve the transducer hull ring and install the V850 transducer, (15) overhaul and renew valves, (16) overhaul steering gear system, (17) remove, inspect, and reinstall rudder assembly, (18) renew rudder assembly, (19) inspect various deck fittings, (20) preserve sewage holding tank, (21) prepare and prime weather decks, (22) preserve underwater body, (23) prepare and prime freeboard, (24) provide temporary berthing, (25) provide temporary logistics, (26) routine drydocking, (27) renew fuel tank access covers, (28) remove and reinstall sewage holding tank, (29) renew hatch, (30) overhaul ventilation fan/motor assembly, (31) renew AFT mooring bitts, (32) preserve voids, (33) composite labor rate, (34) GFP Report in Accordance With Solicitation Section H and (35) lay days. The vessel is a 65 Foot ?A? Class Harbor Tug. Vessel's homepier is located at 4000 Coast Guard Blvd., Portsmouth, Virginia, 23703. Vessel's minimum depth of water is 8 feet, and the minimum height clearance is 35 feet. The performance period is forty-two (42) calendar days beginning on or about August 5, 2002. Funds are available for this procurement. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be issued on or about April 16, 2001. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. "Attention: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
