- Description
- The Internal Revenue Service on behalf of the Department of the Treasury, Customer Service Infrastructure and Operations (CSIO) issues this Request for Information (RFI) regarding available nationwide systems, services, and support of an existing Government-owned nationwide Voice Messaging System (VMS) network. The RFI requests information that will assist Treasury in its decision regarding the expansion, operations, administration, and program management of its enterprise network voicemail systems. Ideas and suggestions are also requested that would provide alternative approaches to migrating to new technologies such as Unified Messaging. The RFI package addressing Enterprise Voice Messaging Systems (EVMS) is located on the Procurement website mentioned below. An RFI package addressing Enterprise Unified Messaging Systems (EUMS) can also be found on this website. The current environment consists of a nationwide network of over 80 Avaya IntuityTM, Octel Serenade, Octel Arias, and Avaya Interchange nodes. This TCP/IP-based VMS network supports over 90,000 and up to 150,000 subscribers nationwide. Small offices not currently served by one of the current systems have dial-in capability to the enterprise voicemail system. The EVMS and EUMS Requests For Information (RFI) packages mentioned herein and listed on the Procurement website referenced below are issued solely for the purpose of seeking information on voice messaging support and unified messaging. The Government intends to use the information received to assist in its long range planning efforts relative to future requirements and acquisitions for this type of voicemail and unified messaging environments. This is not a notice of solicitation and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement action will be issued. As a result and in accordance with FAR 15.202(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. Responders should review the complete RFI package for the details and requirements for responding to each RFI section. Submit responses via e-mail in Microsoft Office format to: bob.l.bannerman@irs.gov, Robert L. Bannerman, Contracting Officer and a cc: to: kay.p.fridenstine@irs.gov, Kay P. Fridenstine, Contract Specialist. Subsequently, a hard copy and electronic format using the MS Word standard software (3.5" diskette or CD-ROM) shall be mailed to the following address: IRS, Procurement, 6009 Oxon Hill Road, Suite 500, ATTN: A:P:I:C (Bob Bannerman/Kay Fridenstine), Oxon Hill, MD 20745. Additional or supplemental hardcopy materials such as brochures may also be submitted. All packages submitted electronically or by electronic media shall be free of any computer virus. If a virus is found, the package will be destroyed and a replacement provided within 3 days after notification. Response to this RFI must arrive in this office no later than 1:00 PM on April 22, 2002. This is a synopsis of the RFI.
