Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a non-personal service contract to a qualified entity to provide professional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services to Federal offenders held in custody of the Department of Justice located at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), Federal Detention Center (FDC), and the Federal Prison Camp (FPC), located at 5701 8th Street, Camp Parks, Dublin, CA 94568. The contract will be for a Base Year: Date of Award through 12 months from date of award, Option Year #1: 13 months through 24 months from date of award, Option Year #2: 25 months through 36 months from date of award, Option Year #3: 37 months through 48 months from date of award, Option Year #4: 49 months through 60 months from date of award. The Government has unilateral authority to exercise each of four option years. All services provide shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the contractor's field of expertise, including but limited to performing mammography and other radiology studies on a mobile unit by a licensed/certified technician. The MRI Technician shall be skilled in interpreting written reports of findings. One service shall be one study. These services shall be provided during regular work hours on the first Friday of the last month of each quarter. There will be four (4) sessions a year, one (1) session each quarter. One (1) session is equal to eight (8) hours from 7:00AM to 3:00PM,(excluding federal holidays). There will be no lunch or overtime authorized. Approximately six (6) patients will be scheduled per session. The contractor will supply the M.R.I. unit and all necessary supplies for the requested service. It is anticipated that this solicitation will result in a Firm Fixed type contract. It is anticipated that the solicitation shall be available on the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov, FAR 5.207, on or about April 8, 2002. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available except in extreme circumstances and only if issuance in this manner is determined to be in the Government's best interest. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed through this site.
