- Description
- Provide A/E services for the design of an electrical generator project for the Service and Distribution Center, Building 37. The facility, which is approximately 500,000 SF and houses twelve (12) tenant organizations. This facility is collocated with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Hines Hospital Facility at Roosevelt Road and Fifth Avenue in Hines, IL. The A&E shall provide all technical services to include electrical engineering, architectural, mechanical, and any other required disciplines for the design to install a generator(s) system as an emergency back-up system to SDC_s facility. The design will include Phase I, consisting of a preliminary study of the facility to identify the electrical load requirements. The preliminary study will require the A/E firm to conduct a thorough inspection of the facility to include the evaluation of the five (5) primary transformers, which supply the building. A final report will be prepared and submitted detailing options available in terms of installation locations, types and number of generators to facilitate the building load requirements and will consider recommendations for the most cost effective system to be installed. Based on the option approval of the preliminary study, Phase II will include the complete design, preparation of cost estimate, bid documents (contract specifications and drawings), construction period services and site visits to accomplish construction project. Estimated cost of the construction project is between $250,000 and $500,000. This is not a request for proposal. Area of consideration is limited to 50-mile radius of Hines, IL. Firms desiring consideration shall submit SF-254 and SF-255, not later than close of business April 22, 2002. 254s and 255s must be sent to: Service and Distribution Center, Attn: Mr. Donald Bavaro, P.O.
