Description
The Air Force Medical Logistics Office/Veterans Affairs Special Services (AFMLO/VASS)Contracting Activity has a requirement to procure design-build services for Government Medical Treatment Facilities to repair or replace designated building envelope assemblies at designated health facilities located nationwide and overseas in accordance with the USAF Health Facilities Office Construction Standards, JCAHO, ASHE, etc. The objectives are to (1) provide building envelope assemblies which prevent the intrusion of weather elements throughout the expected effective life of the assemblies; (2) to provide building envelope assemblies which maintain proper appearance qualities throughout the expected effective life of the assemblies; and (3) to provide building envelope assemblies which require only minimal maintenance to maintain weather tightness and proper appearance qualities throughout the expected life of the assemblies. Building Envelope Assemblies are defined as roofs, skylights, exterior walls, exterior windows, exterior doors, exterior louvers, and all mechanical and electrical equipment mounted to roof and exterior wall surfaces. The assembly includes all components within the assembly from the exterior surfaces to the interior surfaces, including, but not limited to exterior finished, each layer of the assembly, structural elements, and interior finishes. Building Envelope Components are defined as components associated with the building envelope assemblies including, but not limited to, roofs, skylights, exterior walls, exterior windows, exterior doors, exterior louvers, and all mechanical and electrical equipment mounted to roof and exterior wall surfaces. The AFMLO/VASS intends to award a fixed-priced, Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ), Multiple Award Contract based on best value to those offerors whose proposals are found to be responsive, technically acceptable and in the best interest of the Government. The NAICS code is 332322 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The AFMLO/VASS anticipates that the solicitation will be available on or about April 30, 2002.
