Description
The US Army TACOM-ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a lead architectural developer that will design and integrate extensions to a PC based real-time controller into the TACOM-ARDEC Model Based Control (MBC) Environment. The lead architect must have proven knowledge and experience in the following areas: 1) Microsoft Windows Embedded Family which includes: Windows XP, Windows XP embedded, Windows 2000 with VCI RTX extensions and Windows CE.NET. 2) Interface support with the Microsoft Development Team for resolving ?real-time? determinism issues associated with deploying the TACOM-ARDEC MBC within the Microsoft Family of OS Solutions. 3) Development of real-time data capturing using the VenturCom?s Real Time Extension (RTX) of the Windows 2000 environment.4) Proven experience in the development of ?real-time? CNC lathe controllers 5) Proven experience in machining processes and compensation techniques 6) Proven familiarity with basic lathe machining processes and error compensation techniques. The lead architectural developer must also have proven experience in a rapid software controller development efforts, and must be able to develop generic abstractions of a Component Object Model (COM) based interface to a commercial ?real-time? lathe controller, which includes general machine operations, geometric error compensation, thermal error compensation, online- process parameter adjustment, and online real-time data capture.
