- Description
- The Contractor shall provide Fire Control Operational Support, Repair, and production of one FBM MOD 4 Backfit Fire Control Systems, two SSGN Attack Weapons Control Systems (AWCS), and one AWCS Engineering Test System. The Contractor shall also provide design and development for the SSGN Attack Weapons Control System and the Fire Control and Strategic Weapons System Integration Alteration. The Contractor shall also be required to provide an additional year of effort in FY04 at the Government's option. Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Defense Systems (GDDS), Pittsfield, MA. GDDS is the sole manufacturer of the FBM fire control system and the only source with the in-depth knowledge and in-place capability to perform the required effort. See Note 22.*****
