Description

The U. S. Geological Survey, Menlo Park, CA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Dr. Robert Blodgett, Research Paleontologist, Portland, OR under the authority of FAR 6.302.1. The proposed contract is for non-personal services to compile a macrofossil database for Alaska. Qualifications required for this task include a PhD in geology/paleontology, considerable experience in fossil studies in Alaska including more than 15 years of research into the paleontology and biostratigraphy of Alaska and an extensive publication record of this research and broad first-hand knowledge of fossil research collections in the United States. This contract is for a two year period of performance. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Determination to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government; no additional synopsis will be published.
