Description
NA This is a synopsis for a noncommercial cost plus fixed fee research effort for the design, fabrication, and test of a new turboshaft engine, the LTS60 and a scaled-up variant, the LTS150. The new turboshaft engine will be the result of the conversion of a n existing L50/60 turbojet engine design, which is proprietary to Locust USA, Inc. The NAICS code applicable to this acquisition is 541710. The size standard is 1,000 people. The intended source of supply is Locust USA, Inc., at 8324 NW 74th Avenue, Mia mi, FL 33166. This requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This award will fulfill Congressional intent to provide for research to design, develop, test and demonstrate a L50/60 turbojet shaft engine turbo for use in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) based on Locust USA?s preliminary work on this engine design. Locust USA is the only source that owns the technical data package of the L50/60 turb ojet engine design which is to be used for the turboshaft engine development. The LTS 60/150 conversion engine preliminary design exists and is proprietary to Locust USA. Locust solely possesses the L50/60 engine design technical data rights and therefor e is the only firm that possesses the necessary technical data required to perform this conversion. This small turboshaft engine design is applicable to meet projected needs of the Army to provide a reliable, efficient, heavy fuel propulsion system in this horsepower class for potential UAV applications. Desired delivery is 21 months after contract award. As previously noted, the intended source of supply is Locust USA, Inc., at 8324 NW 74th Avenue, Miami, FL 33166. Specifications, plans, or drawings rela ting to this procurement are not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered.
