Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is F04700-02-T-0031. This is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-24 and DFARs Change Notice (DCN) 20001213. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 3695. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334613. The Small business size standard is 1000 employees. This acquisition is a brand name or equal acquistion which must include the following Contract Line Item Numbers: CLIN 0001 Quantity (1730) one thousand seven hundered thirty each; AMPEX DCRsi Standand Tape Airborne Media Cartridges; P/N: 1302453-01. The following are the salient characteristics of the tapes: fibre-reinforced polycarbonate casing, 50-GB capacity, 1750 feet-533 meters tape length, tape width 1? nominal .998 +/- .002, base film .56 mil polyester, oxide coating .18 mil nominal, curvature .125? per 48? of tape, magnetic layer material Cobalt-doped, retenivity uncorrected (BR, Gauss) 1000 +/- 10% erasure field 2000 for 60 dB minimum erasure, orientation transverse, RF output 0 +/- 1.5 dB, BER 1 x 10-5 uncorrected, operating Temp .4 to 49 degrees centigrade, and operating Environment 50%RH +/-15%.
