Description
The U.S. Coast Guard will not set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only, do to lack of competition. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees, NAICS Code is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to the USCGC BRAMBLE (WLB-392), a 180 Foot Sea-Going BUOY TENDER. All work will be performed at contractor's facility. Therefore this is out for full and open competition. The performance period will be 49 calendar days with a start date of 29 July 2002. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC BRAMBLE (WLB-392). This work will include, but is not limited to: (1) Open and Inspect Diesel Fuel Tank (2) Preserve Transducer Hull Rings (3) Overhaul and Renew Valves (4) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assembly (5) Disassemble and Inspect The Bow Thruster (6) Inspect, Overhaul, and Test Weight Handling Equipment- Level II (7) Overhaul Anchors and Anchor Chains (8) Overhaul and Test Motor Safety Boat Davit (9) Preserve Main Mast (10) Preserve Buoy Deck (11) preserve Underwater Body (12) Provide Temporary Logistics (13) Routine Dry-docking. Provide logistics to cutter for systems that are affected during overhauls such as protective deck covering material, storage, lights, power, telephone toilets and showers. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition procedures. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be provided free of charge. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g. *.TIF, *.TIF (group4), *.DWG, and *.DWF, etc.) Drawings are also still available in hard copy. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 10 April 2002. "ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
