- Description
- The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools and incidental supplies necessary to perform Road Grading and Ditch Cleaning on Forest Service aggregate surfaced roads within the boundaries of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky. Grading and ditch cleaning will take place twice a year during the Spring (generally starting in May) and Fall (generally starting in August). In addition to the surface blading, the Contractor will be responsible for removing debris from culverts and inlet basins, as well as, removing debris from the road surface. The ditch cleaning is primarily to clean debris from the ditches and restore water flow. There are four primary work areas/bid items covered by this contract. Item 1 is the Morehead and Stanton Ranger Districts with approximately 180 miles of grading and 50 miles of ditch cleaning (annual totals). Item 2 is the London North and Redbird Ranger Districts with approximately 170 miles of grading and 50 miles of ditch cleaning (annual totals). Item 3 is the London South and Somerset North Ranger Districts with approximately 170 miles of grading and 60 miles of ditch cleaning (annual totals). Item 4 is the Somerset South and Stearns Ranger Districts with 240 miles of grading and 75 miles of ditch cleaning (annual totals). This project will be issued as either an Invitation for Bid or a Request for Proposal with a tentative issue date for the solicitation of 02/01/2002 and a tentative opening/closing date of 03/04/2002.
