- Description
- The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis two (2) each Filter Bank Assemblies from Anderson Metal Industries, Incorporated, 1385 Pittsburgh Road, Franklin, PA 16323. These items are necessary for chemical and biological defense of the Pentagon as part of the CPS Backfit Program. The Filter Bank Assemblies must meet the stringent tolerance requirements in order to interface properly with USN CBR filter sets as per the direction of New World Associates Dwg # 0113-20000. Anderson Metal Industries is the only known manufacturer of these items. No other source could acquire the special tooling needed and provide the complete assemblies within the required twelve (12) week lead-time needed to ensure the safety of the Defense Department in accordance with new security measures. The successes of the CPS Backfit installations depend heavily on the quality and timely p erformance of the CBR Filter Bank Assemblies within requirements. Award is to be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13) by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5100.
