Description
NAICS Code: 339111 THIS IS A RESOLICITATION. THE PRECEDING SYNOPSIS WAS POSTED ON 11/28/01. THE PREVIOUS RFQ-OH-02-00056 DATED 01/09/02 IS CANCELLED IN ITS ENTIRETY. THE SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE IS DELETED AND THE REQUIREMENT IS RE-ISSUED UNDER RFQ-OH-02-00113 ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (US EPA) National Risk Management Research Laboratory, Subsurface Protection and Remediation Division, located at the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center in Ada, OK, is seeking to acquire a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for mineralogical and biological characterization of materials collected from natural and engineered systems. The basic system shall consist of an electron optical unit, specimen stage, an evacuation system, and a computer for instrument control, data acquisition and analysis. The SEM must be fully compatible with an existing Oxford Instruments Model 6587 EDS Unit. The proposed acquisition shall include the following: (A) Firm Fixed Price - FFP, (B) Installation within 30 days after delivery at Ada, OK, (C) on-site training covering total system operations within a month after completing the installation to at least 1 operator, (D) Delivery within 150 days of award, (E) One year warranty. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be evaluated and considered by EPA. This procurement will be processed using full and open competition under FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. It is anticipated that requests for quotations shall be issued around 03/07/02, with quotes due around 03/18/02.
