- ISSUE DATE: 2 APRIL 2002. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, supervision, transportation, and disposal to remove flush metal toilet partition including 2 ft. door in each berthing shower room; remove (7) 28? x 24? plywood lavatory countertops; remove wall mounted mirrors over lavatories; install new fiberglass shower and receptor within 30? x 30? shower walls; new plastic toilet partitions including 2 ft. door; new 24? surface mounted medicine cabinets. New 24? pedestal lavatory in each berthing bathroom; clean ceramic tile floor in all bathrooms to remove grime; re-grout tiles as required; paint all bathrooms including walls and ceilings, and incidental related work. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 04/02/2002. The date for receipt of quotes is on or about 04/23/2002 at 4:00 pm local time. Estimated cost range is between $25,000 and $100,000. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
