U.S. Dept. of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons Health Services Procurement Pharmacy Technician POC: Michael Kucynda/ Alex Ahumada, Contracting Office, Ph.: 805 737-3461, Fax: 737-3462 or phone 805 736-4154, Exts. 856/609 This procurement is being advertised under NAICS code 42221. To provide Pharmacy Technician Services for the federal inmates at the United States Penitentiary (USP) and Federal Prison Camp (FPC), Lompoc, CA. Services rendered will include all the duties expected of a Pharmacy Technician, in a standard community Pharmacy Tech. position to include, but not limited to, assisting the Pharmacist in reviewing of medical records, interpreting prescription orders, producing prescription labels, and preparing prescriptions for the pharmacist/physician/dentist review. Assists in preparing requests for drug purchases in the absence of the pharmacist. Receives medication supplies within the pharmacy, logs in expiration dates, affixes identification labels, and enters item into inventory. Reviews expiration date logbook monthly, processing expired medications for credit or disposal. Performs routing computer systems maintenance revisions. Reviews medication administration record weekly to identify upcoming prescription order expirations and notifies Medical Records for physician scheduling. Prepares pre-labeled, pre-packaged medication vials for after hours use. Forty Sessions per week. A session is equal to an hour.
