- Description
- The Tongass National Forest intends to solicit and award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract with the Otis Elevator Company, Anchorage, Alaska for replacement of the hydraulic cylinder for its freight elevator located in Sitka, Alaska. The existing elevator is an ESCO Machine No. 906381. The existing cylinder is to be replaced with a new cylinder with sealed PVC protection. The work includes removal of underground equipment, excavation and drilling to accommodate the new equipment, and furnishing and installation of the new cylinder. The NAICS code is 235950. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a technical package, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government?s requirement. Anticipated Award date is March 29, 2002. Responses must be received no later than (NLT) 4:30 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, March 29, 2002. Responses should be submitted to: Tongass National Forest, Contracting, Federal Building, 648 Mission St., Ketchikan, AK. Fax: (907) 228-6254. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within 9 days of the publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Facsimile responses are acceptable and must be received on or before the closing date. Telephone requests to be placed on a mailing list will not be honored.
