Description
Eglin AFB FL has the intention to install new fire hydrants and hydrant isolation valves in the military family housing area on Eglin AFB. The NAICS code for this requirement is 235110. This acquisition is unrestricted. This is a Performance Price Trade Off acquisition. Award will be made based upon the Best Value to the government in accordance with FAR 15.3. The government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the lowest price offeror. This project includes furnishing all labor, equipment and materials to install new fire hydrants and hydrant isolation valve. In general the work will consist of removing existing fire hydrants, isolation valves, asbestos cement pipe and installing new fire hydrants, isolation valves and ductile iron pipe. Work will include installation of bollards and replacement of asphalt paving, curbs, sidewalks and turf damaged during installation of the hydrants and piping. The above general description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, materials, and equipment complete in accordance with the plans and specifications. No alternative bid items exist for this project. Performance period is 280 calendar days. Estimated dollar range is between $250,000 and $500,000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. This is a paperless acquisition. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued, but the (RFP) will be available on the Federal Government's Electronic Posting Systems (www.eps.gov) on or about 4 January 2002. The ESTIMATED proposal due date is 4 February 2002. No response to this notice is necessary, and no Source List will be maintained. See Note 26.
