Description
NA The proposed work includes providing all plant, labor, material, equipment, and services necessary for removal and subsequent replacement of asphalt and sand/gravel base for project titled Widen Echo Taxiway Taxiway (CURZ 002829) at The Vermont Air Nationa l Guard Base, Burlington International Airport, South Burlington, Vermont. The project consists of re-construction and widening of a 530 ft x 50 ft ladder taxiway and installation of taxiway lighting. Once completed the taxiway will be 75 ft wide and hav e 10 ft wide shoulders on both sides with taxiway lights installed. Work includes removal of all existing asphalt and sand/gravel mix under the existing asphalt on taxiway and on the outer edges for the additional pavement, including compaction of subgrad e. Subgrade work includes the placement of 9.5 inches of crushed aggregate base course under the taxiway, and 6 inches of crushed aggregate base course under the paved shoulders. The taxiway is to receive 5 inches of new asphalt pavement with 2 inches of new asphalt pavement on the shoulders. In addition, repairs to the Bituminous Pavement/Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) junction between taxiway and the center concrete apron. Repair work includes installing expansion joints in the existing PCC apron and i nstalling a pavement junction. Also an additional 9 inches PCC pavement, pavement will be doweled to the existing PCC apron along the south edge of the existing concrete apron. Base under this pavement shall consist of 9.5 inches of crushed aggregate bas e course. Removal of 15 existing taxiway edge markers and associated concrete bases, and the installation of new power cable in conduit from existing power sources to each of the new taxiway lights which includes providing and installing 23 new taxiway li ghts in a new base, backfilled with concrete. Included also is the furnishing and installation of concrete encased electrical duct under the taxiway. Provide and install 3 new taxiway illuminated signs in a new base, backfilled with concrete, located at the entrance to taxiways D, E, and F. PCC pavement joints are to be sealed. Replacement of the centerline taxiway stripe, stop bars, and other marking, removed or damaged during the project. The NAICS Code (SIC) is 234110. The related small business siz e is $28.5M. The magnitude of construction is $100,000 to $250,000. Completion date is 90 calendar days from acknowledgment of the notice to proceed. NOTE: Any prospective contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. Registration requires a DUNS number and may take up to three (3) weeks to process. CCR registration may be accomplished via the world wide web at http://www.ccr2000.com/ or http://acq.osd.mil/ec, or contact telephonically at 888-227-2423. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 15 April 2002. Only WRITTEN REQUESTS for solicitation packages will be accepted. Solicitation packages may be obtained by forwarding the written request and a non-refundable certified check or money order, in the amount of $30.00, made payable to Blueprints Etc, to the USPFO for Vermont, ATTN: VT-PFO-PC, 789 Vermont National Guard Road, Bldg #3, Colchester, Vermont 05446-3004. Personal and Business checks will not be accepted. Request s shall include contractor delivery address and mailing address. Contractors are to state if they are a women-owned, minority owned, small or large business. Bidder's Mailing List (Plan Holder List) will be provided upon receipt of a WRITTEN REQUEST. Bi dder's Mailing Lists will be mailed only (no facsimile copies will be transmitted). This is an unrestricted procurement pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, as established by Public Law 100-656, Business Opportunity Develo pment Reform Act.
