- Description
- The Air Vehicle Structures Division at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River, Maryland is tasked to provide engineering services to support the development of methodologies and designs for composite swashplate and bifilar components for the MH-60R helicopter. This effort is directed towards increasing the life of these components through the application of modern materials, analytical prediction and simulation, and developing pre-designed, optimized life extending failure modes during their usage. This is a notice of intent to request a proposal and negotiate with Sikorsky Aircraft, 6900 Main St., Stratford, Connecticut 06615 to provide engineering services for the design development, component fabrication, and component testing, and requires details of the design requirements, geometric constraints, and an analytical assessment of the adequacy of the existing design specific to the MH-60R helicopter. It is anticipated that a Cost Plus Fixed Fee level of effort contract will be awarded for a six-year period of performance. Period of performance is date of award through 30 September 2007. Sikorsky Aircraft is the original designer of the MH-60R helicopter, Sikorsky is the only source that possesses the knowledge, experience and skills required to provide these services. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation document is available.
