Description
Provide complete A/E Services to verify existing schematic design concepts (15%),prepare preliminary drawings (35%), develop the design (60%), and prepare final construction documents including cost estimate (100%). A/E will also provide construction period services for project 534-02-107 Advanced Meal Delivery System (AMDS) at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC. This project prepares the Dietetic Kitchen for installation of new Government furnished food service equipment. Discipline that may be involved include but are not limited to Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Industrial Hygiene. This announcement is an unrestricted procurement pursuant to FAR 19.1007. A/E firms must be located within a 200 mile radius of Charleston, SC to be considered. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: Factor number (1) is most important with factor number (6) somewhat less, but more important than all remaining factors. Factors 2 and 4 are of equal importance but less than factors 1 and 6. Factors (3, 5, and 7) are weighted equal but are of least importance. (1) TEAM AND MEMBERS: Professional qualifications of the entire team as necessary for the satisfactory management, coordination, and performance of the required services. The team will be given particular attention for its overall coordination; previous experience in working together as a team; and estimating capabilities. Individual members of the team will be considered for their professional qualifications, experience, and background relevant to the project. (2) HEALTH CARE EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience and technical competence by all members of the team in health care facilities and their background in similar types of work. (3) RENOVATION EXPERIENCE: Prior experience by all members of the team in the design of alterations, maintenance and repair projects, development of these designs, and preparation of construction documents including, drawings, estimates and specifications. (4) PUBLIC SECTOR EXPERIENCE: Past performance of all members of the team on contracts with government agencies in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. (5) CAPACITY TO PERFORM WORK: Capacity of all members of the team to produce construction documents and a demonstrated ability to design within a given budget. (6) ABILITY TO RESPOND: Location of the principle firm in regards to its ability to respond to and to communicate effectively with the Medical Center, and as regards its ability to coordinate its work within the Medical Center?s operational constraints and limitations. Principle firms shall be located within a two hundred (200) mile geographical radius of Charleston, SC. (7) COMPUTER ASSISTED DRAFTING: Ability to work with AutoCAD formats and to comply with local Medical Center drafting standards.
