Description
The US Department of Education invites small business firms to submit research proposals under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. Firms with strong research capabilities in educational technology, science, or engineering in any of the topic areas listed below are encourage to participate. Awards are for periods up to six (6) months in amounts up to $75,000. Each firm submitting a proposal must qualify as a small business for research purposes as defined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) at the time of award. In addition, the primary employment of the principal investigator must be with the small business firm at the time of award and during the conduct of the proposed research. Also, the research or R&D work must be performed in the United States and at least two-thirds of the effort must be performed by the proposing firm. The anticipated federal research topic available under this ED/SBIR program solicitation is as follows: Topic #1 Office of Vacational and Adult Education: Development and Adaptation of Innovative Technologies to Improve Instruction and Achievement in High Level Math in Secondary Career and Technical Education Courses. Anticipated opening date: April 2, 2002, Anticipated closing date: June 10, 2002.
