Description

NA The U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) is seeking to acquire research and technical management support on a task order basis. The effort will be in support of basic and applied research for defense against chemical and biological attack, for deterrent capability against such attacks, and for smoke and obscurants. The technical support will require science disciplines in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, and/or the life sciences. Some task orders shall require a security clearance up to Secret and may require the contractor to handle sensitive or hazardous items to include chemical surety material, toxins and toxoids, viruses, bacteria, acids, bases, and solvents. Known or suspected carcinogens may be involved in specific task orders. A ccess to outside surety facilities will be required. Where required by the nature of the effort described in the task order, work will be performed on-site at ECBC, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. It is anticipated that resulting contracts will have a five ye ar period of performance. The solicitation will be structured to allow for multiple awards. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on 25 March 2002. A preproposal conference is expected to be held at Edgewood two weeks after solicitat ion release. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered.
