Description
The US Border Patrol is actively seeking information and solutions to determine the interest and capability of industry firms to participate in a competitive acquisition for professional technical and installation services supporting the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) Remote Video Surveillance (RVS) deployments. RVS is used to monitor, track, and respond to illegal activity along the United States border between Canada and Mexico. The requirement includes designing, integrating, installing, and testing the leading edge RVS technology at various locations on the northern and southern borders throughout the United States. RVS includes the integration of infrared and day light cameras mounted on 60 to 80 foot structures monitored and operated from a central location by real-time electronic video transmissions and camera control interfaces between the central monitoring station and the remote RVS camera structures. The remote RVS camera structures and central monitoring station are integrated and linked by microwave radio transmission technology, fiber optic transmission technology, satellite transmission technology, or other transmission technologies depending on the environmental and geographical requirements. All responses must show experience in installing towers and structures of a minimum of 60 feet in height, video technology and installation, microwave radio technology and installation, fiber optic technology and installation, satellite technology, infrared and daylight camera technology and installation, and the integration of the individual components to successfully complete the turnkey RVS installations. Interested vendors capable of meeting these requirements shall submit information not to exceed twenty (20) pages detailing their experience and capability. Interested vendors must include whether or not they hold a General Services Administration Schedule (GSA) and include the GSA Number. In addition, interested vendors shall also submit relevant past performance in the past five (5) years. The past performance submissions shall include Contract Number, Customer, Contracting Officer (name, telephone number, and fax number), Contract Value and Type, Period of Performance, and Description of Services/Products. Proprietary data will be protected when so designated. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. Responses to this request for information are not offers and cannot be accepted to form a binding contract. The sources sought announcement is requested for information purposes only. No cost data should be submitted. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Materials submitted will not be returned to the sender.
