Description

NA Description: U. S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) is planning to lease a High Speed Vessel (HSV-X2) for the Army from Bollinger/Incat USA of Lockport, LA. A new indefinite delivery quantity type contract is contemplated to be awarde d using Alpha negotiations with terms and conditions similar to the current HSV-X1 contract. This vessel will be modified to meet Army requirements and delivery is targeted for 90 days after contract award. One ordering period is for 365 days and a second ordering period of 365 are contemplated. HSV-X2 will assist Logistic Support Vessels in providing critical surface movement in support of (OEF), which will be augmented by the HSV in support of the on-going military action. The HSV is critical for intra- theater movement in order to relieve the strain on overtaxed aircraft. The HSV will be utilized on missions to maximize its speed and flexibility. It is needed for sustainment deliveries, the movement of Army Preposition Stock (APS), and potentially troop units. During the lease period, the HSV-X2 will also be evaluated for its suitability for this type of Army mission and will assist a larger effort to determine future Army watercraft requirements.
