- On 21 March 2002, the Navstar Global Positioning System (GPS) Joint Program Office (JPO), HQ Space & Missile Systems Center (SMC), Los Angeles AFB, is holding an unclassified, pre-solicitation Industry Day for GPS User Equipment (UE) Modernization. The agenda will include an updated overview of the JPO's acquisition strategy, programmatic timelines, an announcement of the lead-the-force platforms selected to participate in the System Demonstration and Development (SDD) phase, required technologies overview as well as unclassified discussion of M-Code requirements, development and security issues. The anticipated acquisition will include development, prototyping, and testing of the next generation of GPS User Equipment demonstrating improved accuracy and improved time to first fix (TTFF). During the first half of the day, questions and discussion points will be developed for optional one-on-one government-contractor sessions (30 minutes maximum time) later the same day, or the following day. All contractors desiring a one-one-one meeting must sign up with Elaine Gehr 310-781-8609 prior to 21 MAR 02. The conference is open to U.S. citizens only. Location: The conference will be held at the A-8 Building/conference facility at Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo at 2350 El Segundo Blvd, El Segundo, CA with the check-in starting at 7:30 a.m. and the conference beginning at 830 a.m. Enter the facility off of El Segundo Blvd via the Douglas Street entrance. See security guard at the gate for entrance of personnel who have RSVP'd. You will be directed to parking and to the building and conference room location.
