This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items. The US Geological Survey has a requirement for Sun 36GB Fibre Channel 10,000 rpm 1 inch hard drives, hot swap (Part Number X6724A). The disk drives will include brackets and mounts for external disk array storEdge A5200. The system being used is a Sun 250 with Solaris 8, release 10. Manufacturer of these disk drives is Seagate. It is essential that the drives be Sun Fibre Channel because there is a firm ware issue in the arrays. Sun Warranty must be included, new drives only, refurbished not acceptable. Vendors must provide certification that drives will work in external disk array storEdge A5200. Government acceptance period is 2 weeks for all drives. Quantity is 36, to be shipped 12 each to Reston, VA, Menlo Park, CA, and Tucson, AZ. Delivery is FOB destination. Interested parties may request a copy of the RFQ by email. Quotes are being requested under Request for Quotes (RFQ) 02HQQQ0022. Quote number must be included with request. All vendors who can meet this requirement, and have a valid Dunn and Bradstreet number (DUNS), are invited to email the contracting officer their quotes. Quotes are due March 12, 2002, COB. THIS ACQUISITION WILL BE MADE UNDER THE SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION THRESHOLD OF $100,000.00. NAICS code for this acquisition is 421430.
