Description
NA The Installation Business Office-Contracting, Fort Bragg, NC, is conducting a market research of industry to determine if the Government?s specific needs may be met by a type of service customarily available in the commercial marketplace, and identify mark et practices and examine the vendor base capabilities for obtaining these services for the Public Works Business Center. The research will also determine whether these services should be performed under contract for small business set-aside or large busi ness. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. Scope of Work for Chiller Retrofit. The Government is interested in acquiring potential sources of service that are capable and interested in retrofitting nine(9) chillers in six(6) locations on Fort Bragg. The Chiller requiring retrofit are: three(3) T rane R-11 (Model #CVJE-080N-AU and CVHE-050G-AV), installed 1990; three(3) McQuay R-12 (Model #C26122BY2LA and Model #PEH-079), installed 1989 and 1991, respectively; three(3) York R-11 (Model #YTL6M6F2 CYE and Model #YTL4K6F2-SWFS), installed 1990 and 199 3, respectively). This requirement involves alterations to real property on a government installation, and only EPA certified technicians, professional certified Trane, York and McQuay service provider, and associated recovery equipment will be used during the retrofit proc ess. The recovered Ozone Depleting Chemicals (ODC) must then be properly labeled and turned in to the ODC Reserve Depot in Richmond, Virginia in DOT approved containers specified in the solicitation specifications. The Depot will pay the cost of shipping . Copies of certifications must be submitted prior to commencing work. The Market Survey Questionnaire also includes services for Halon Retrofit/Removal requirement, SIC Code 1799 Special Trade Contractors NEC performing services under NAICS 235990. You can obtain the Synopsis for the Halon requirement by searching the SIC/N AICS code. Offerors are encouraged to respond to both requirements, if capable. The Chiller Retrofit SIC Code is 17ll Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors performing services under NAICS 235110, Refrigeration and Freezer Installation Contra ctors. All potential sources must provide descriptive information on their services, provide warranty, discount, and other commercial terms and conditions applicable to this service, as well as their business status. The Questionnaire for the Chiller Ret rofit and Halon Retrofit/Removal services can be obtained at the following email address: http://www.bragg.army.mil/www-doc/Contractors/SOLICIT.HTM. Instructions to Interested Parties: a synopsis/solicitation for this requirement will be published prior to issuance of a solicitation. A site visit will be conducted prior to receipt of bids so the potential Offerors may view a sampling of the buildings where the affected equipment is located and review mechanical drawings. Interested certified service providers are requested to submit an expression of interest, and a statement of capabilities (SOC). This is not a request for proposals and no solicitation is available at this time. The Government will not pay for informatio n requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.
